We are looking for romantic love stories (happy, sad or in between) with a maximum word count of 2500. Simultaneous submissions and submissions of reprints (stories or poems previously published in print or online) are welcome. You can also submit more than once—but please one story per submission.
The top five submissions in each contest will be posted on CommuterLit the week of Feb. 9-13, 2026 and receive cash prizes:
First-place: CA$100 Second-place: CA$50 (3) Honourable Mentions: CA$25
Submission guidelines: single-spaced; use Canadian spelling.
Submission deadline: End of day EST Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
